The blog host I had set up and was blogging through is now trying to charge money for it's use. Because of this I have decided to continue blogging right here in the old familiar eblogger spot through google. Not only is this convenient.. It is right in line with my email and such...
However there is a twist...
I will no longer bite my tongue when posting my thoughts...
I have mulled it over for several months now and have finally come to realize that I should not care what others think about my posts. They are here for my benefit not theirs, they are my opinions alone. And like assholes we all have an opinion...
So for my first back to writing topic a little about what's been transpiring...
A) Mom's doing very well, could do better but needs a bit of motivation from the immediate family to be more active.
B) I am fighting a minor bacterial lung infection caused by a lingering cold.... Now two weeks into it I just could not take the tightness in the chest any longer so here I sit after taking the first of seven days worth of very expensive antibiotic medications... And yes, I will take them until finished...
C) My new job at the plant has been going exceptionally well, except for being absent on Thursday night and Sunday night because I was deathly ill on the weekend... Since starting there roughly 7 months ago I have received two increases in pay. I am told the next increase will not be fore at least another 6 months but hey... I'm not complaining... It's not that I make shit loads of money, it's simply that I am content in the fact that during the recession I have been able to secure solid work. I also really enjoy the fact that I can do other things for a good portion of the day such as banking or blogging, get a nice nap in before the night shift and then go about my stress free position moving product and equipment around the plant...
D) I have done very little work with the in laws in the past several months, in fact not more than three jobs in about 6 months. This is not due to a conflict with family as some of you have suggested, in fact I highly respect the family and enjoy their company... However waiting for the customer to pay up when you have a mortgage due at the end of the month was far too much stress for my liking...
And finally, I am just generally doing well, but financially we are tighter than the space between my two front teeth. So much so that we decided a month back to get rid of television, internet & home telephone.... Huh? But you still have all of those don't you? The answer to that is a delicate... Yes, and we in fact still have the same home telephone number but we do not use Bell any longer since they are criminals just like the rest of the large corporations... Rogers and a few others... Actually the solution we have found is to capture open wifi from the neighborhood, I found a way to concentrate multiple open wifi connections into one through a router that I changed the firmware on. This feeds the house with what amounts to redundant and fast high speed internet. In fact if one of the neighborhood routers goes down the system automagically reverts to the next highest signal strength available... I am planning on incorporating an idea such as this in the vehicle though the mini computer I am designing with a team of friends. With a small antenna on the roof resembling a cell phone antenna from the 80's the system should be able to automatically pick up multiple open wifi signals and bring them to the car's onboard computer....
OMG Am I sounding like a star trek geek or what? Well this is not a new idea, there are expensive alternatives that use this technology already existing in vehicles like Lexus etc... But as I said they are expensive, high end etc... I want to create a system that can be installed by the average user, that will not modify the existing structure of the car at all, and will be affordable by most DIY middle income class folks...
Anyhow, having the super fast redundant and free internet connection allows you to then build and connect your own PBX containing the above mentioned home telephone number. It's portable too, so for example if I put together that mini computer system I am talking about for the car, I could effectively take the telephone system with me. Wherever I go I could recieve calls on the small 7 inch touch screen display in the car and as long as I don't lose internet connection I would have free calls anywhere in North America...
Kids are all doing well too, The oldest boy is in his new school... or should I say resort.. .Shessh, every day it seems they are doing some hands on experiment in some fantastic location throughout the city and a bit beyond... He really needed a school like this and from what I've been shown, for kids like him this experience will get him ready for the high school experience.... How, I'm not sure but with it being fully government funded and quite unique in the way they teach, I'm not about to question it. He loves taking a bus to school also... Gives him time to think, something that I enjoy doing very much too...
The other boy also very strong in school, seems to enjoy the experience and he's very much a social animal. Loves to skateboard and has a head as strong as oxen. Hard to control sometimes but a very intelligent boy who I can relate to on many levels...
And the Girl... I can't tell you enough about my little girl... She's out done herself in so many areas... Schooling she excels at. She has so many friends it's hard to keep her head straight in who is her best friend and how not to hurt those who thought she was their best friend etc... She spreads her friendship around and is handling the peer pressure thing quite well... Smart, funny, and a fantastic cook she's doing very well...
BTW, the girl and I made a really awsome Gluten Free cheesecake one last chunk of which I am about to smother with whip cream...
That's all for now, see you again soon in the print!
