The other day while driving home from the hospital my mother begins talking about a ring that was in my youngest boy's possession. The ring had a blue stone in it, was obviously some kind of graduation ring and had a name inscribed on the inside of it. When my mother brought the ring to my attention I started to ask the questions... Son where did you get this? his answer was that he found it with a friend while walking across the bridge near his school "TWO YEARS AGO" wow... I was flabbergasted that he had it this long without us knowing. He had apparently placed it on a teddy bear of his and there it remained all this time. Well since it had a name inscribed I figured being a high school grad ring that person would probably be on facebook. Sure enough they exist within the realm of facebook. It was really strange because I had just been so focused on returning the ring that I didin't stop to think how the other person could possibly view this as an internet stalking... hahahaha The name on the ring I thought was a guy but turns out it was a girl so that added to the scaryness of it all.
So what happened was I took a few pictures of the ring and one with my son holding the ring. Immediately she recognized my son as one of the kids that went to her son's school. I think at that point she started to relax a little since she gave me her address and we dropped off the ring...
Anyhow after finding the person we realized that my son had been given the ring by her son who for some reason had a habit of taking stuff from their house and either giving it away or losing it... Not really an unusual thing for a child to do I suppose... But the thing that really perplexed me is how the ring survived two years on a teddy bear then found it's way back to it's rightful owner...
Very cool :)
BTW Mom didin't take the news of the new rat so badly, in fact she is holding him right now as I type... I think we will all get along just fine...
