My Mom's doin' great!!!

OK I've had a tonne of support from friends online and from work etc... That helped emotionally for sure so thanks for that...

My mom is officially over the H1N1 flu, took approximately three weeks to fully be over it but she isn't coughing or anything anymore so we are quite confident in saying this...

Monday she will return to TO clinic and get the official all clear but things look great on this end so far...

I also wanted to tell you about a band that I stumbled upon... Well actually Where I work there is a guy who works on my shift who is also a member of the band, I put a nice widget with some of their music in the left column...  The band is called BrushWood and it's a local TO band... Please check it out, if you like Rock you will love their sound!

Cheers!

Flu and My Mom...

Yes, it's true, she's got the flu, but it's not turning out to be as bad as the media wants you to think... Actually I have not blogged about  it in quite some time but the gist of it is this...  Her home Spirometer's "Forced expiratory volume" or FEV1 readings have steadily declined in volume over the past month creating a far greater concern for us than the Flu.  Unfortunately for us this could mean serious or chronic rejection which is the #1 reason for loss of life for transplant patients...  Or it could mean she has some hidden infection that we are not aware of yet despite several xrays and visits to the emergency department.  Unfortunately for us we have run into one of the main doctors who's attitude towards my mother is beginning to concern us...  She's filled with doom and gloom and offers little hope for her future, it's becomming quite frustrating for us and so we are seeking further places where routine tests and clinic appointments can be done...

I guess I confused some people as to where I have been blogging about her latest battle... I had started up a separate blog called BittenByFlu...

That's all for now...
